For over nine years now God has birthed fresh melodies and rhythms into Jay’s heart, setting him on a passionate pursuit of not only worship through music, but a lifestyle of worship. Jay has never failed to share this gift wherever God has led him. With a very contemporary-acoustic sound, Jay seems to
draw a variety of crowds. People from ages eight to eighty have been in the congregations of his ministry. God has given him the ability to write and play the guitar, and he has chosen to use those gifts solely and completely for God. Jay has been a worship leader at four local churches since the age of 15, as his desire to worship and acknowledge God surpasses every other aspect of his life.

Jay’s independent debut CD “Forgiven” has sold over 2,000 copies since its release in 2002. In June 2004, Jay was named one of the nation’s
top 50 independent artists by Billboard magazine and performed at AtlantaFest in Atlanta, Georgia. Jay has opened up for other well-known Christian bands and artists including Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, and Israel Houghton. Jay’s newest project, “Pieces” was partially produced, mixed, and mastered by Barry Weeks and Ian Eskalin of Sony BMG in Nashville. Ian Eskalin was named Producer of the Year at the 2008 Dove Awards. This project was completed in April of 2007.

Jay graduated from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in May 2005 with a B.S. in Biology. Through Jay’s ministry thus far, God has blessed him with dedicated bandmates and others to serve with him. After years of praying for a
lifelong partner in ministry, Jay married the love of his life, Brittany Gillum, on March 24th, 2007. They continued together to follow the will of God, playing at various churches and booking events throughout the southeast. Jay and Brittany transitioned to full time service on the local level at The Crossing Church in Tampa, Florida in October of 2007, where Jay currently serves as Student Ministries Worship Pastor. (Check out this amazing youth ministry called “EMERGE”.)

Jay’s passion and life calling is no doubt in music ministry, as he desires to see lives changed by the power of God. He and Brittany together strive to live out their calling to create a culture of lifestyle worship.
This ministry, this purpose, this calling...is the cry of Jay Hagy’s heart.
The best is yet to come!!
